MPO Pressure Control and Metering Manifold: controls applied surface back pressure on the well bore using Pressure Control Valves (PCV), and measures returned well bore fluids' mass flow rate, pressure, density and temperature. The manifold then diverts all returned well bore fluid flow at atmospheric pressure, either directly to the shakers, or the drill through MGS and then onto the shakers. Includes dual overpressure protection.
During Managed Pressure Drilling the Bottom Hole Pressure is determined by the Equivalent Circulating Density (hydrostatic head of drilling fluid + frictional effects of circulating) plus the applied surface back pressure, applied by an MPD choke or TCD manifold.

The Total Control Driller© Pressure Control and Metering Manifold is part of the MPO MPD system which also includes the MPD MGS, Non Stop Driller© drill pipe/subs and RCD systems.
The Total Control Driller© and MGS are all automatically controlled, monitored and remote actuated by the MPO Control System software.
MPO has agreements with RCD suppliers to supply both standard passive RCDs and remote latching RCDs. In addition MPO is developing our own passive RCD system.
