MPO Drill Through MGS: Safely removes entrained gas from the mud returns and routes it to a safe discharge area, meaning
MPD operations can continue while the MGS breaks out any background gas cut in the mud, or minor connection gas.
The MGS is used with the Total Control Driller© Standard and Plus systems for;
• Deep water drilling • HPHT drilling • Exploration drilling
• Narrow window drilling • Fractured reservoir drilling
MPO MGS Features:
- No operator intervention, less crew required
- Designed for erosive drilled solids, and includes automated cuttings flushing system
- Vessel has custom designed internal gas segregation system
- If required the system can operate with a substantial returned gas rate for Near Balance Drilling
- Designed to be drilled through, so continuous circulation through the system is possible
- Level indication, pressure transducers and high accuracy gas flow metering, tied into MPD Control System
- 8” gas vent outlet tied into rigs existing vent lines up the derrick on offshore installations. For onshore applications, a 12” vent line will be run out to an MPO submerged flare/vent system, which includes an automated flare detection and ignition system
- Comprises two interconnecting skids; upper skid frame houses the separator vessel, the lower skid frame houses the MGS circulation mud pump and contains all of the pipework for the system
